Biography

Robin McKinney received her medical degree from St. George's University, Grenada. She completed her Pediatrics residency at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn and a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care at Children's Hospital Michigan in Detroit. Since 2015, she has served as an attending physician in the Department of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Hasbro Children's Hospital. Her work involves caring for medically complex patients and those who are technology-dependent at home, particularly in the outpatient ventilator program. Her research focuses on the long-term outcomes of ventilator management in children with severe broncho-pulmonary dysplasia (BPD), aiming to improve evidence-based ventilator strategies for this vulnerable population. In recognition of her teaching excellence, she received the Dean’s Excellence Teaching Award from Warren Alpert Medical School in 2022.
