Biography

Robin van den Akker is a Senior Lecturer in Continental Philosophy and Cultural Studies, and serves as the academic program coordinator at Erasmus University College Rotterdam. He is the founding editor of the research platform 'Notes on Metamodernism', where he analyzes and maps the changes in aesthetics and culture in relation to the post-postmodern condition. Additionally, he is a member of 'Het Filosofisch Elftal' and contributes a regular column to the Dutch daily newspaper 'Trouw'. He has academic degrees in Social History (BA), Media Journalism (MA), and Philosophy (MA) from Erasmus University Rotterdam, alongside a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Cultural Inquiry from the University of Birmingham. His doctoral dissertation focused on the social production of hybrid spaces and the implications of mobile locative interfaces in urban public experiences.
