Biography

Professor Robin Wallace graduated in 1976 and has had a distinguished career in power generation and renewable energy. In 1984, he joined the Project Engineering Group at Parsons Peebles Motors Generators, where he ultimately became the Assistant Chief Project Engineer. He was responsible for turnkey power generation projects involving discrete speed drives with capacities of up to 25 MVA, primarily focusing on hydro power plants. In 1986, Robin moved to the University of Edinburgh, where he has since developed research interests that include network integration of distributed renewable energy generation and marine energy. He serves as the Principal Investigator and Finance Lead for the EPSRC SuperGen Marine Energy Consortium. Robin is also a Chartered Engineer and a member of the IEE, as well as a board member of the Scottish Energy Environment Foundation.
