Biography

Robin Williams is the Director of the Institute for the Study of Science, Technology, and Innovation at the University of Edinburgh. His research focuses on the social shaping of technology, particularly how various actors influence the design, implementation, and use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). He examines enterprise systems and large, complex information infrastructures and has contributed significantly to the understanding of standardized packaged solutions and their successful implementation in diverse organizations. His work with colleagues includes exploration of copyright and new business models in the cultural industries through the Law AHRC funded CREATe project.
