Dr. Rochelle Terman

Biography

Rochelle Layla Terman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley. She received her PhD in 2016. Professor Terman specializes in international norms and human rights, and is the author of the book "Geopolitics Shaming: Human Rights Pressure Works—and Backfires," published in 2023 by Princeton University Press. Her research also encompasses gender issues, Islamophobia, and computational social science. In addition to her primary role, she is a faculty affiliate at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies and the Center for the Study of Gender & Sexuality, as well as a member of the Committee on International Relations. Her innovative approach and insights contribute significantly to the field of political science and human rights studies.
