Biography

Roddy Grieves received a BSc (Hons) and PhD in Psychology from the University of Stirling, under the supervision of Professors Paul Dudchenko and Emma Wood. He subsequently completed a postdoctoral position working with Professor Kate Jeffery at University College London and Professor Jeffrey Taube at Dartmouth College. Currently, he is a Lecturer in the School of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Glasgow. His research focuses on recording the activity of single neurons in the brain of freely moving animals, specifically rats. He aims to understand how spatial neurons in the brain contribute to mapping an animal's surroundings, aiding in memory and decision-making. Grieves has a strong publication record, contributing to insights in cognitive neuroimaging and the representation of time in cognitive and behavioral functioning.
