Dr. Rodney Anderson

Biography

Rodney U. Anderson is a Professor (Clinical) of Urology, Emeritus at Stanford University. As an esteemed member of the academic community, he has focused his research primarily on clinical aspects relating to neurologic relationships within the genitourinary tract. His investigations delve into fundamental neurophysiologic assessments of disordered functions resulting from trauma, infection, and inflammation, as well as behaviors associated with prostate growth abnormalities. Additionally, he has explored the outcomes of urologic management in patients with spinal cord injuries. Currently, his clinical research emphasizes the management of chronic pelvic pain through drug trials, physiotherapy, novel medical devices, and electrical stimulation techniques. Dr. Anderson has played a significant role in investigating the efficacy of botulinum toxin (BotoxA) treatment for neurogenic bladder issues, particularly in Parkinson's disease patients who often face urinary tract symptoms. His contributions to the field have been acknowledged through numerous awards and honors, including being designated as a Wyland Leadbetter Research Scholar by the American Urologic Association. His extensive educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Cell Physiology from the University of Utah and a Doctor of Medicine from George Washington University.
