Biography

Rodney Allen Trice is an alumnus of the graphic design program at Penn State, returning as a faculty member in August 2018. With three decades of experience in the magazine publishing industry, he has art directed and contributed to numerous significant publications, including Allure, Cosmopolitan, Essence, InStyle, Glamour, People, Seventeen, Teen Beat, Weekly, and Vibe. His career expanded from print into content creation, where he produced TV pitches and developed concepts for video and film. Additionally, he runs a quirky environmental furniture design business called T.O.M.T. Trice has received multiple industry accolades, including the Society of Publication Designers Awards and the Content Council Pearl Awards, among others. He was recognized by Time magazine's Green Design 100 for his contributions to furniture design. Trice’s teaching endeavors in New York City have enriched his understanding of visual communication pedagogy, and he actively tests foundational design ideologies through his design studio, Refit Or Die. This project employs a project-based approach that aims to redefine graphic design through immersive technology experiences. He is currently developing a game project called L.S.D., which focuses on behavioral data to help players identify their vulnerabilities in a deceptive world.
