Biography

Rodney Weber is a Professor in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. He completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Minnesota in 1995, where he also earned an M.S. in 1991. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, awarded in 1987. His research focuses on atmospheric aerosols, particularly their sources, processing, and the effects of urban air quality and health. He investigates mechanisms and conditions for new particle formation, homogeneous nucleation, and particle growth processes. Dr. Weber has participated in numerous field studies aimed at understanding these phenomena and has been involved in the development of new instruments, including a particle liquid sampler. He has received several accolades for his work, including the Cullen-Peck Faculty Fellow Award in 2007 and the Whitby Award from the American Association for Aerosol Research in 2005. His research interests include Atmospheric Chemistry, Aerosols, and Clouds.
