Biography

Roee Gutman is a Professor in the Department of Biostatistics at Brown University. He earned his Ph.D. in Statistics from Harvard University, where his research focused on topics related to missing data and causality, supervised by Professor Donald Rubin. He also conducted research in Professor Jun Liu's lab, contributing significantly to the field. Prior to his Ph.D., Roee obtained his Bachelor’s degree with Honors in Statistics, Operations Research, and Computer Science from Tel Aviv University in 1999. He later completed his Master’s degree in Applied Statistics with Special Honors under the supervision of Professor Yossef Hochberg at Tel Aviv University. Roee has received numerous awards throughout his career, including the 2023 Paper Award from the Statistics Biopharmaceutical Research and the 2022 Methodology Award from ISPOR Health Economics Outcomes Research. His commitment to education was recognized with a Certificate of Distinction in Teaching from Harvard University. His work focuses on the intersection of statistics and biostatistics, including methodological advancements in data analysis and causal inference.
