Biography

Roel Loonen is an Associate Professor in Building Physics and Services at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. His research and teaching focus on the development and application of modeling and simulation strategies to provide decision support in designing buildings that combine high indoor quality with low environmental impact. Roel is an active member of the academic community, serving on the board of the Dutch-Flemish chapter of the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA) and acting as co-chair of its website committee. He has received several accolades, including the REHVA Young Scientist Award in 2021, and has been recognized for his contributions to academic supervision and research.
