Dr. Roger Crisp

Biography

Roger Crisp is a Professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Oxford and the Director of the Uehiro Institute. His extensive academic background includes positions as a Junior Lecturer at Magdalen College and a Lecturer at Hertford College. He has also served as a British Academy Postdoctoral Research Fellow and as a Fellow at St Anne's College. His research primarily focuses on ethics, history, particularly ancient ethics, British moral philosophy, and ethical theory. In addition to his professorship, Crisp has held various distinguished fellowships and has supervised numerous doctoral and master's students in ethics. He has authored several influential publications in the field of practical ethics and British moral philosophy, contributing to a better understanding of moral reasoning and ethical decision-making.
