Biography

Since 2017, Roger Fayet has been an extraordinary professor at the Kunsthistorisches Institut, University of Zurich, and the founder and program director of the CAS continuing education course Applied Art History. Material and Technique, conducted through SIK-ISEA. He completed his habilitation at the Faculty of Arts, University of Zurich, in 2016, earning the venia legendi for the field of Art History. Fayet has served as the director of the Swiss Institute of Art Research (SIK-ISEA) in Zurich since 2010 and has held various teaching positions at the University of Zurich since 2003. His past roles include being the director of the Museum zu Allerheiligen in Schaffhausen from 2003 to 2010 and a leading curator at the Museum Bellerive from 1999 to 2003. Fayet obtained his doctorate in 2003 from the Faculty of Arts, University of Zurich, and completed his diploma for higher education teaching at the same institution in 1998. He has been involved in academic appointments across various institutions, including the Zurich University of the Arts. He began his academic journey studying philosophy, art history, and modern German literature at the University of Zurich from 1985 to 1994.
