Biography

Roger Geiger obtained his Master’s degree in Biochemistry from ETH Zurich in 2007. He conducted his PhD studies at ETH Zurich under the supervision of Professor Ari Helenius, focusing on the mechanisms by which non-enveloped viruses penetrate host cell membranes. In 2011, he joined the laboratory of Professor Antonio Lanzavecchia at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine, receiving a transition postdoctoral fellowship from SystemsX. His research mainly explores metabolic regulation in T cell responses. In 2016, Geiger joined the research group of Professor Matthias Mann at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Munich, where he received advanced training in mass spectrometry-based proteomics. In August 2017, Dr. Geiger established his own independent research group at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine, where his team studies T cell responses in tumors utilizing systems biology techniques. His expertise areas include Adaptive Immunity, Immune Oncology, and Systems Immunology.
