Dr. Rohen Prinsloo

Biography

Rohen Prinsloo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Calgary. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Pretoria in 2011, followed by a Master of Science in Chemistry from the University of Calgary in 2015. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry at the University of Calgary in 2021. His research focuses on developing scalable and sustainable approaches to chemical synthesis using continuous flow chemistry. Rohen aims to establish precise and efficient synthetic methods that produce high-value compounds, functional polymers, advanced materials, and small molecules with applications in energy storage, circular plastics, and pharmaceutical development. He integrates innovations in flow chemistry, reaction optimization, and materials design to address pressing challenges such as chemical waste and energy demands, facilitating scalable access to complex molecules. Rohen actively seeks collaborations with partners interested in solving complex synthetic challenges and improving process reliability for the innovative discovery and application of new molecules.
