Biography

Rohini Sharma is a Professor of Clinical Pharmacology and Medical Oncology at Imperial College London, also serving as an honorary Consultant in Medical Oncology based at Hammersmith Hospital, part of the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Her clinical research focuses on Hepatocellular cancer (HCC) and Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), where she is involved in the development of novel biomarkers. Rohini leads the Hepato-Oncology Clinic, which provides a unique service for patients managed jointly by Hepatologists and Medical Oncologists, with the aim of improving clinical outcomes and promoting research. She heads the liver cancer research group at Imperial College. Rohini commenced her medical training at the University of Adelaide in Australia, followed by specialist oncology training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney and clinical pharmacology training at Westmead Hospital, Sydney. She was awarded the NHMRC Fellowship to complete her PhD at the Westmead Millennium Institute, University of Sydney. Subsequently, she received the prestigious Higher Education Funding Council England Clinical Senior Lecturer position at Imperial College and was promoted to Professor in 2023.
