Biography

Over four decades, Ron George has engaged in roles as a teacher, soloist, and orchestral musician. He joined Orchestra London (currently known as London Symphonia) as principal horn in 1979, appearing as a soloist with the orchestra. Ronald has performed with various symphonic orchestras including Toronto, Detroit, Kitchener-Waterloo, Calgary, Hamilton, Vancouver, Thunder Bay, National Arts Centre, and Orchestre Symphonique de Laval. He has notably appeared with the Canadian Opera Company in the production of Wagner's Ring Cycle. His extensive recording credits include collaborations with Pinchas Zuckerman (National Arts Centre Orchestra), Gary Cooper (Arion), and Bruno Weil (Tafelmusik). Ron has toured Europe, Japan, and the United States, performing with ensembles such as the Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Opera Atelier. A dedicated teacher, he takes pride in working with some of Canada’s finest young musicians at Western University.
