Biography

Ron McLachlin is a Senior Scholar at the Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba, specializing in supply chain management. He obtained his Ph.D. in Operations Management from the University of Western Ontario, as well as an MBA and B.Sc.(Eng) from the University of Alberta. Before retirement in 2015, he served as Head of the Department of Supply Chain Management and briefly held positions as Director of the Asper MBA program and Acting Director of the Transport Institute. His research has been published in prominent journals such as the Journal of Operations Management and the International Journal of Operations & Production Management. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the Journal of Humanitarian Logistics & Supply Chain Management and has served as an Associate Editor for various academic publications. McLachlin has taught multiple courses in operations and supply chain management at both undergraduate and graduate levels, focusing on operations strategy, service operations, and production management.
