Biography

Shawn Blanton is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1995. His research interests focus on various aspects of integrated system testing, including testable design and the development of test methodologies. He has consulted for numerous companies and is a founder of TestWorks, a Carnegie Mellon University spinout specializing in information extraction from integrated circuit test data. Blanton has been recognized with several awards, including the National Science Foundation's Career Award in 1997 and IBM Faculty Partnership Awards in 2005 and 2006. He has delivered over one hundred talks at universities and companies, including Stanford, Yale, and Intel. He has served on technical program committees for prestigious conferences and has published over 100 refereed papers in journals and conferences, in addition to holding seven U.S. patents. Blanton is a fellow of the IEEE and a senior member of the ACM, and served as the Program Chair for the 2011 International Test Conference.
