Biography

Ronald H. Goldstein, MD, is a Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, specializing in Pulmonary, Allergy, Sleep, and Critical Care Medicine. He holds an MD from SUNY Downstate Medical Center and a BS from the University of Wisconsin Madison. Dr. Goldstein has a strong background in pulmonary biology, particularly focusing on the regulation of alveolar matrix development and the pathophysiology of diseases such as emphysema and pulmonary fibrosis. His research employs cellular and molecular biology techniques to investigate collagen and elastin levels, which are crucial in the alveolar wall structure. His clinical research interests include evaluating novel therapeutic agents for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). He has extensive experience in diagnosing and managing pulmonary fibrosis and is involved in various clinical studies to assess the efficacy of novel treatment modalities for this condition.
