Professor Dr. Ronald Masulis

Biography

Ron Masulis is a Scientia Professor of Finance at the UNSW Business School, University of New South Wales. His academic journey includes an MBA and PhD from the University of Chicago, where he has established himself as a recognized authority in empirical corporate finance and corporate governance. His published research encompasses a wide array of areas, including investment banking, financial institutions, market microstructure, international finance, private equity, corporate governance law, ownership structure, mergers and acquisitions, and executive compensation. With over 43,000 Google citations, Masulis has achieved some of the highest sustained publication rates in top-tier financial journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics and the Journal of Finance. His contributions to the field have earned him numerous accolades, including multiple Journal Financial Economics Star Paper Awards and election as President of the Financial Management Association International for the 2020-2021 term. Masulis has served on the Board of Directors for various finance organizations and holds editorial positions in multiple academic journals. He has also participated as a visiting professor and faculty member at several prestigious institutions worldwide.
