Biography

Ronald E. Miller is a Chancellor’s Professor in the Department of Mechanical Aerospace Engineering at Carleton University. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba, a Master of Science degree and a PhD from Brown University. His research expertise lies in nanocomposites, particularly concerning high strain rate deformation polymers and transparent armor. He investigates the effects of radiation on materials used in nuclear reactors, and his work encompasses nano-mechanics and multiscale molecular dynamics simulations within materials science. Dr. Miller is involved in high-performance computing applications for multiscale modeling, enhancing the understanding of complex materials behavior. His notable research contributions include work on oil antioxidants, atomistic modeling, and crystal defects.
