Ronald R. Salem earned his medical degree from the University of Rhodesia and is a Board Certified Surgeon. As a part of a high-volume surgical practice in Connecticut, Dr. Salem specializes in malignant and pre-malignant diseases of the pancreas, liver, biliary system, gall bladder, stomach, colon, rectum, lymphoma, and neuroendocrine tumors of the pancreas and gastrointestinal tract. He also focuses on patients with liver tumors during pregnancy. His clinical research aims to optimize clinical outcomes for patients undergoing pancreatic surgery and addresses combined modality therapy for esophageal cancer and the management of pancreatic cysts and benign malignant liver tumors. Dr. Salem has received several honors, including recognition as one of the Top Minimally Invasive Surgeons in the NY Metro Area for ten years and has been awarded the prestigious David and Cindy Lefell Award for clinical excellence, along with the Heroes Award from Yale New Haven Hospital.
