Biography

Ronald Williams is a professor in the Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care with a background in surgical anatomy, cell biology, orthopedics, and orthopedic oncology. He has been a faculty member at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio for 21 years and has served as the residency program director and department chair. In 2012, he joined Texas Oncology as the director of Sarcoma Orthopedic Oncology, affiliated with Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas. His practice includes aspects of orthopedic oncology, addressing both benign and malignant childhood musculoskeletal tumors, as well as adult soft tissue sarcomas and metastatic skeletal disease. His academic interests focus on improving quality of life through limb salvage, surgical innovations in limb salvage, and segmental skeletal reconstruction in metastatic cancer, along with bone metabolism in metabolic bone disease.
