Biography

Ronaldo Maghirang assumed the head position of the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering on May 1, 2019. Prior to this, he was an associate dean for research and graduate programs and a professor of biological agricultural engineering at the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering, Kansas State University (K-State). He also served as program administrator for the Engineering Leadership Innovation program at K-State. Maghirang’s research focuses on low-cost air pollution measurement, monitoring, modeling, and control of air emissions from agricultural operations and off-road activities, as well as the measurement, control, and modeling of indoor air quality in agricultural buildings. His work involves particle technology, environmental applications of nanotechnology, and improved grain handling and storage. He received his bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering and his master’s degree in agrometeorology from the University of the Philippines Los Baños, followed by a Ph.D. in agricultural engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
