Dr. Rongbin Xu

Biography

Rongbin Xu is a Research Fellow at the Monash University School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. Following his PhD completion in December 2021, he has focused his research on evaluating health impacts from climate change-related environmental factors such as extreme temperatures and air pollution. With over 98 peer-reviewed publications to his name, which have received more than 2800 citations, his work has appeared in prestigious journals including Nature, NEJM, and The Lancet. His research has garnered significant media attention, demonstrating tangible social policy impacts. He has been recognized with various awards, including the Premier’s Excellence Award and the PhD Excellence Award from the Council of Academic Public Health Institutions Australasia. Xu's research interests encompass Environmental Epidemiology, Epigenetic Epidemiology, Child and Adolescent Health, and the use of Machine Learning and GIS for exposure assessments. He is actively involved in collaborations on critical research projects related to environmental health and has served as a peer reviewer for several leading journals. Xu holds honorary positions at the University of Melbourne and is a member of multiple professional associations, contributing to the field through his commitment to public health and epidemiological research.
