Dr. Ronke Akerele

Biography

Ronke Akerele is a seasoned professional in the healthcare sector, currently serving as the National Director for Culture Transformation at NHS England and NHS Improvement. Over the past eight years, Ronke has held the position of Board Executive Director in various NHS Trusts, driving culture change, innovation, and quality improvement initiatives that have significantly improved service outcomes for users and their families. Before her executive roles, she spent thirteen years in management consultancy, focusing on strategy execution, information technology, performance management, and change programme management in both private and public sector organizations. Ronke has held senior positions at Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust, Imperial College Health Partners, BUPA, Care Quality Commission (UK), and several NHS Trusts. She also has experience with consultancies like Accenture and PWC. Academically, she holds a BSc in Economics, an MSc in Information Technology, an Executive MBA, and a Doctorate in Organisational Change, along with Executive Education from reputable institutions such as London Business School and Harvard Business School. Her lecturing and research interests include Leadership Development, Culture Change, Quality Improvement, Innovation, Health Policy, and International Healthcare.
