Biography

Ronnie F. Blackwelder is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC), where he has served since 1980. He has held the positions of Assistant Professor and Associate Professor from 1970 to 1980. Blackwelder has also been a Visiting Professor at the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2001 and a Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Turbulence Research at Stanford University and NASA Ames in 1994. His consulting work includes roles with TetraTek, Inc., Flow Research, Inc., and Dynamics Technology, Inc., among others. He has also served as a Guggenheim Fellow and a visiting scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Fluid Mechanics in Germany. Blackwelder specializes in experimental fluid mechanics, flight mechanics, aerodynamics, and turbulence.
