Biography

Ronnie Clark received his MSc in Information Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand and his DPhil from the University of Oxford. He was a member of the Dyson Robotics Lab from 2017 to 2020. He held an Imperial College Research Fellowship before joining the University of Oxford in 2022 as an Associate Professor. His research has received accolades, including the Best Paper Honourable Mention at CVPR in 2018. His work focuses on bridging the gap between the real world and the digital world by creating photorealistic digital copies of reality. His areas of work include Neural Rendering for photorealistic reconstruction and novel view synthesis, Dense Visual SLAM for 3D scene representations and state-estimation, and scene understanding through 3D semantic segmentation and object detection. He is particularly interested in developing novel 3D vision techniques to advance applications in Mixed Reality (AR/VR) and Home Robotics.
