Biography

Ronnie R. Gipson Jr. is a Visiting Associate Professor of Law at Penn State Dickinson Law. He earned his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law and holds a B.A. from Texas A&M University in Modern Languages (French). Prior to entering academia, Professor Gipson practiced law in his own firm, where he represented aviation clients in private transactions and regulatory enforcement actions, as well as civil litigation arising from aviation accidents. His scholarly work lies at the intersection of international law and aviation law, where he explores modern developments in global and domestic aviation regulations and their broader impact on safety and individual rights. Professor Gipson actively engages in the aviation community, serving as Chair of the Legal Advisory Council of the Experimental Aviation Association, a nonprofit organization that advocates for the rights and privileges of the aviation community. His research in international law also investigates how regional trade groups can equalize the bargaining power of nations and their effects on statehood. Recently, his works have included topics such as Tennessee tort law, non-commercial use of aircraft in women’s healthcare, and the peaceful resolution of Taiwan's statehood issue amidst tensions with China.
