Dr. Ronson Shamoun

Biography

Ronson Shamoun is a Lecturer II at the University of San Diego School of Law, specializing in Federal Tax Procedure and Criminal Prosecutions. A three-time graduate of USD, he founded RJS LAW, a tax law firm aimed at helping clients navigate complex tax issues affecting both small businesses and large international companies. Professor Shamoun has extensive experience representing clients in civil and criminal matters in both state and federal courts, with a strong background in negotiating settlements and litigating cases involving the IRS and state agencies. His expertise has earned him recognition as a Super Lawyer from 2019 to 2025 and a spot among the Top 100 Leaders in Law by the San Diego Business Journal in 2023 and 2024. Additionally, he has been acknowledged as one of the 500 Influential People in San Diego's Professional Services sector from 2020 to 2025. Professor Shamoun has also received several awards, including the Distinguished Alumni Award from the USD School of Law and the CEO of the Year Award for Small Private Companies in 2020. He co-founded the RJS LAW Tax Institute at USD, which hosts an annual tax law conference that unites the tax community. His contributions extend beyond teaching, as he serves on advisory boards at the School of Law and the School of Business.
