Biography

Ros undertook PhD in Zoology at the University of Oxford, where she investigated the evolutionary ecology of brood parasites. Following this, she completed short postdoctoral positions at the University of Oxford and the Australian National University, focusing on avian behavioural ecology. In 2014, Ros took up a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Sydney to conduct research on the evolutionary ecology and genetics of bees. By mid-2018, she began her Lectureship in Evolutionary Biology at the School of Life and Environmental Sciences. In 2022, she became an ARC DECRA Fellow, focusing on the genetics and ecology of native Australian stingless bees. In 2023, Ros was awarded the Robinson Fellowship by the University of Sydney. Her research interests include ecology, evolution, population genomics of Australian stingless bees, native bee conservation, the responses of native bees to changing climates, and the genetics of social insects.
