Rosalie Arendt is an Assistant Professor at the University of Twente, specializing in the effectiveness of political environmental accounting, particularly focusing on environmental neutrality claims. Her research critically examines the measurements, values, and offset methods for environmental impacts, including carbon, biodiversity, and water. She works on key areas that investigate how economic interests shape environmental accounting tools like Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Carbon Footprint calculators. Arendt's empirical research explores climate strategies in the corporate sector and deconstructs concepts such as residual emissions and offsetting practices. She holds a PhD from the Technical University of Berlin, where her dissertation explored monetary weighting in LCA related to environmental costs in low-carbon technology.
