Biography

Rosalie Iemhoff is a logician specializing in mathematical philosophical logic. Her research interests encompass theoretical, foundational, and applied topics, with a special focus on proof theory, questions, and methods. Rosalie studied mathematics at the University of Amsterdam and obtained her PhD in mathematical logic in 2001. After spending several years as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, San Diego, and the Technical University of Vienna, she joined the Department of Philosophy at Utrecht University in 2006. In 2009, she received a VIDI grant from the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) for a five-year research project on the power of constructive proofs. In 2018, she was awarded a VICI grant from NWO for another five-year research project titled Optimal Proofs. Her involvement in academic service includes being a member of the Editorial Board of the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy and the ASL book series Perspectives in Logic. She served as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Philosophical Logic from 2017 to 2023 and is an editor for the Mathematical Logic Quarterly and Review of Symbolic Logic. She is also a member of the Core Initiation Committee of the Proof Society from 2017 to 2023.
