Biography

Rosalie Ocker is a Teaching Professor and Coordinator of the B.S. Enterprise Technology Integration at Penn State University's College of Information Sciences and Technology. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Information Science from Rutgers University and holds an M.B.A. from Lehigh University, as well as a B.A. in Economics from Albright College. Prior to her academic career, Ocker was a consultant at Arthur Anderson (now Accenture), where she developed financial trading systems for firms in the Wall Street financial services sector. Her research interests include enterprise architecture, technology-mediated communication, and the socio-emotional factors that affect the effectiveness of distributed teams. Ocker has studied enterprise architecture and global teams, including the impacts of geographic, temporal, and cultural distance. She has also supported research funded by the National Science Foundation, focusing on training modules designed to mitigate the negative effects of distance in partially distributed teams. In addition to her research, she teaches courses on enterprise architecture, agility, research methods, and software requirements determination. Ocker has received the George J. McMurtry Faculty Excellence Teaching and Learning Award for her contributions to teaching and learning.
