Biography

Rosalinda C. Canizares is an Instructor at Duke University School of Medicine, where she also serves as Coordinator of Alumni Engagement and Associate Director of the Duke MBS. A Duke alumnus with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) obtained in 2012 and a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Anthropology & Anatomy from 2004, she has made significant contributions to the Duke community, including helping establish the Duke Pre-Physical Therapy Association. In addition to her academic role, she is the Director of Communications for the American Physical Therapy Association of North Carolina and is an active member of the Performing Arts Special Interest Group. Canizares has presented at various conferences, including the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science Annual Conference, and has reviewed manuscripts for Journals focused on dance medicine and sports health, evidencing her engagement in research and scholarly activities. She has received honors such as the Forever Duke Award and has served in leadership roles within professional organizations.
