Biography

Rose Ellen Dixon is a Professor at UC Davis in the Department of Physiology and Membrane Biology. Her research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of L-type calcium channels, particularly how they regulate cardiac excitation-contraction coupling. Dr. Dixon leads a NIH-funded research team employing integrative experimental approaches, including advanced imaging techniques and electrophysiology, to study these channels. Her lab examines the role of Ca V 1.2 channels in cardiac health and disease and explores mechanisms of cardiac performance as related to aging and lipid metabolism. She is also involved in diverse collaborations that enhance the impact of her research both locally and globally. Dixon has published numerous articles in prestigious journals and works to contribute to the understanding of cardiac physiology and its implications in cardiac diseases.
