Biography

Roshan Joseph is the Russell Chandler III Chair Professor at the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech. His research interests lie in applied computational statistics, with a major focus on developing novel data analytic methods for solving complex engineering problems. He has extensive consulting experience in addressing quality-related issues across various industries. Dr. Joseph has received numerous honors, including the Distinguished Dissertation Award from the University of Michigan in 2003, the CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation in 2005, and the Jack Youden Prize from the American Society for Quality in 2005. He was awarded the Coca-Cola Junior Chair Professorship in 2008 and the Paper Award from IIE Transactions in 2009. Additionally, he was a Franz Edelman Laureate from INFORMS in 2017 and received the Statistics in Physical and Engineering Sciences Award from the American Statistical Association in 2019, followed by the SPAIG Award in 2020 and the Lloyd S. Nelson Award in 2021. Dr. Joseph has been elected a Fellow of the American Statistical Association in 2012 and the American Society for Quality in 2020. He is also currently serving as an editor for Technometrics from 2020 to 2022.
