Biography

Roslyn C. Murray, PhD, MPP, is an Assistant Professor in Health Services, Policy Practice at Brown University’s School of Public Health, where she is affiliated with the Center for Advancing Health Policy through Research. As a health services researcher and economist, her expertise lies in commercial health care spending and hospital pricing. Dr. Murray's research evaluates policies and programs designed to improve health care affordability for commercially insured individuals. Her scholarly work has been published in prestigious peer-reviewed journals such as Health Affairs, JAMA Health Forum, and the Journal of Health Politics, Policy and Law. Additionally, she serves on Connecticut’s Health Care Benchmark Technical Team and the Data Analytics Work Group, having provided testimony on health care affordability initiatives across four states. Dr. Murray earned her PhD in Health Services Organization with a concentration in economics from the University of Michigan's School of Public Health and holds a graduate degree in public policy from Georgetown University. Prior to her academic career, she worked with Catalyst Payment Reform, a non-profit organization, where she assisted large employers and health care purchasers in implementing strategies to enhance health care value.
