Dr. Ross Tsuyuki

Biography

Ross Tsuyuki is a Professor in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta, specializing in health services research with a focus on chronic disease management and public health. He has expertise in community pharmacy practice, having conducted numerous trials involving pharmacist prescribing for conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia. Tsuyuki serves as the chair of the Department of Pharmacology and the director of the EPICORE health research coordinating centre. His career includes significant contributions to research funding, securing over $54 million, and he has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed articles. He is actively involved in teaching and mentoring the next generation of health researchers and has been recognized with various teaching and mentorship awards. His research emphasizes the role of community pharmacists in managing chronic diseases and improving health care outcomes. Tsuyuki is also an honorary professor at the University of Waterloo and at the University of Otago in New Zealand, and he is the editor-in-chief of the Canadian Pharmacists Journal. His work has led to innovations in primary care and improvements in healthcare efficiency.
