Biography

Ross Venook is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Bioengineering at Stanford University and Associate Director of Engineering at the Stanford Byers Center for Biodesign. He co-leads undergraduate laboratory courses, including an instrumentation lab (BIOE123) and an open-ended capstone design lab sequence (BIOE141A/B), while also running hands-on workshops related to medical device innovation. With training as an Electrical Engineer from Stanford (BS, MS, PhD), Ross's graduate work concentrated on developing and applying new types of MRI hardware for interventional device-related uses. He has also contributed to the Biodesign Innovation Fellowship, where he initiated an MRI safety program at Boston Scientific Neuromodulation, spending 15 years enabling safe MRI access for patients with implanted medical devices and collaborating with the MRI safety community to create and improve international standards.
