Dr. Rossana Lau Ng

Biography

Rossana Lau-Ng is an Assistant Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, specializing in Geriatrics. She obtained her MD and MBA from Tufts University and has completed a Family Medicine Community Health residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Lau-Ng furthered her training by completing a two-year Geriatric Medicine clinician-educator track fellowship. She is actively involved in patient care at Boston Medical Center, providing services in skilled nursing facilities and long-term care settings. As the medical director of the Nursing Home Program, she focuses on enhancing care transitions for underinsured patients and promoting appropriate post-acute care. In her academic role, she serves as a preceptor for medical students and is a core faculty member for the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at BUSM. Lau-Ng has a particular interest in interprofessional medical education and health equity issues affecting older adults. Her commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in healthcare includes facilitating workshops and participating in relevant committees. She has received prestigious awards such as HRSA’s Geriatric Academic Career Advancement award, which supports her research on interprofessional education in post-acute care settings, particularly related to opioid use disorder.
