Biography

Rouba Ibrahim is a professor at the School of Management of University College London (UCL). She holds a PhD in Operations Research from Columbia University (2010), an MSc in Applied Mathematics from Stony Brook University (2004), and a BSc in Mathematics from the American University of Beirut (2002). Her research interests lie in stochastic modelling applications within service systems, with a specific focus on call centers and healthcare systems. Rouba is particularly interested in applying queueing-theoretic methods, numerical tools, and simulation modelling for data analysis related to operational management in service systems. One of her research projects examines delay announcements in service systems, exploring effective methods for communicating delays to incoming customers, which is particularly relevant in call centers and hospitals. Additionally, she analyzes data from service systems to enhance operational efficiency and employs queueing-theoretic analysis to improve operations in the sharing economy. Rouba also studies behavioral phenomena in queueing systems to further understand the dynamics of these environments.
