Biography

Rowena Azada-Palacios is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Edinburgh Law School, working on the project titled ‘Reversing Gaze’. Her research areas encompass political philosophy, decoloniality, and intersectional critical philosophical thought in education. She has taught philosophy and education at prestigious institutions including Ateneo de Manila University, London Metropolitan University, University College London, and New York University in London. Rowena authored a monograph titled 'Postcolonial Education and National Identity', published by Bloomsbury Academic, which is based on her doctoral research completed at University College London. She serves on the editorial board of the journal 'Ethics Education' and is involved in the IMPACT series of the Journal of Philosophy Education. Rowena is also the chair of the Philippine Society for Education Philosophy, a founding member of Women in Philosophy (Philippines), and a member of the development committee for the Philosophy Education Society of Great Britain.
