Dr. Roxane De La Sablonnière

Biography

Roxane De La Sablonnière is a full professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Montreal. An expert in social psychology, her research focuses on the effects of social changes on individuals. She explores cultural identities and ethnic and intercultural relations. Her previous work encompassed diversity policies, including multiculturalism, interculturalism, and secularism. Currently, she studies social changes in Inuit communities. Roxane’s academic journey has taken her from Mongolia to Kyrgyzstan, enriching her understanding of various cultures. Her commitment to understanding cultural dynamics is evident in her diverse research interests, which revolve around social identity, relative deprivation, and the long-term changes that occur as individuals integrate multiple, often conflicting identities. She has supervised numerous graduate theses, contributing significantly to the scholarship in her field.
