Biography

RBC (Roy) Huijsmans is an Associate Professor at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS), Erasmus University Rotterdam. His research interests include the roles of young people in migration, the impact of mobile technologies on their lives, and their engagement with popular culture and the gig economy. Huijsmans has conducted extensive ethnographic research primarily in Southeast Asia, especially Laos, as well as in Europe, particularly the Netherlands.
