Biography

Royston Gustavson joined Australian National University in 2003 and has passionately contributed to education. He received the ANU Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2009. He served as Associate Dean (Education) in the ANU College of Business and Economics from 2010 to 2011, and as Associate Dean (Education) in the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences from 2012 to 2019. In April 2021, he was appointed the inaugural Dean (Academic Quality). His governance experience includes being appointed to the ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies by the Minister in 2015 and chairing various educational committees. Royston is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and an active member of the Institute of Managers and Leaders in Australia and New Zealand. His research interests include the history of music printing in the 16th century, particularly in German-speaking areas, and he is committed to publishing Open Access.
