Dr. Rubab O Connor

Biography

Rubab Jafry O’Connor is a Distinguished Service Professor in the Management Department at the Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University. She has developed and teaches a unique three-year leadership development course sequence known as Business Leadership Endeavor for undergraduate business students. Rubab has extensive teaching experience, which includes courses in Organizational Behavior at the Tepper School of Business and Organizational Development at the Heinz School of Policy and Management. She has also taught Leadership Organizations at the University of Pittsburgh and Leadership Budget Financial Management at Duquesne University. Additionally, Rubab has instructed Leadership Organizational Behavior at ICN Business School in France. Her research interests encompass transformational leadership, student development, confidence, and public speaking. Before her academic career, Rubab held management roles, including academic advising and career consulting for undergraduate and MBA students both nationally and internationally. Her professional background includes experience in investment banking and credit marketing, as well as serving as a Research Assistant for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in New York. Rubab earned her Doctor of Education degree with a concentration in Management from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Policy and Management with a concentration in Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
