Biography

Rudy Negenborn is a full professor in Multi-Machine Operations & Logistics at TU Delft's Department of Marine and Transport Technology. His research interests include distributed control, multi-agent systems, model predictive control, and optimization, focusing on tackling control problems in large-scale transportation and logistic systems. He obtained his MSc degree in Computer Science from Utrecht University in 2003 and completed his PhD at the Delft Center for Systems and Control at Delft University of Technology in 2007, with a dissertation on multi-agent model predictive control applied to transport networks and power systems. After finishing his PhD, Rudy became a post-doctoral researcher in Delft, concentrating on large-scale water network control. He has edited books on Intelligent Infrastructures and has been awarded several research grants, including the NWO/STW VENI grant since 2010. He remains actively involved in various projects aimed at enhancing transport efficiency through innovative approaches and behavioral models.
