Biography

Rui Chang received a B.S. in Biological Sciences with a focus on Biotechnology from Tsinghua University, China, in 2005. He earned his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Southern California in 2011. After completing postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School, he joined the Department of Neuroscience and the Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology at Yale University School of Medicine in January 2018. The Chang lab utilizes advanced molecular, genetic, and imaging techniques, particularly single-cell gene expression profiling and optogenetics, to study the physiological functions of various organ-to-brain circuits. His research aims to deepen the understanding of the body-brain interface and to develop neuronal-based therapeutic strategies for disease intervention.
